He asked if I would convert the amp to blackface specifications – a common modification, since the pre-CBS (blackface) Fender circuits are arguably more desirable than the CBS (Silverface) circuits. The Vibrolux Reverb is one of the most sought-after Blackface Fender amps, especially a clean “Fender Electric Instrument Company”-emblazoned example. Offering more guts and headroom than a Deluxe, it can be employed to meet a myriad of gigging situations. The Vibrolux Reverb is an AB763 style circuit. They don't sound the same. The CVR has a thicker mid presence, it doesn't have the scooped black/silverface thing going on at all. It also has no negative feedback loop which adds tot he nosiefloor and allows for earlier breakup.

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial.

There is a reason why Fender sell a lot of these models, and once you plug in and play this, you will see why.

The Fender Vibrolux Reverb appeared in 1964 as part of Fender’s revamp of its amplifier lineup, with nearly all models getting Reverb and Tremolo circuits if they didn’t already have them. At 40 watts into a pair of 10 inch speakers, the Vibrolux Reverb was placed between the single-speaker Delxue and Princeton models on the lower power range, and the Twin Reverb on the higher side for 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Amp - Blackface Super clean 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb "Blackface" amplifier. Excellent condition for its age (50 years!) and all original, except some changed tubes and caps for service/maintanance reasons. One of the best sounding vintage amplifiers and one of the most sougt after! The two 10" Utah speakers sound just great, good for home or studio and enough It's as close to the blackface amp in terms of tone as the other amps in this series are relative to their blackface counterparts. Slightly earlier breakup, and the sound of Celestion speakers. Add the custom channel and there's a lot to like here.
